Artist's Statement
Many of my paintings come from the pastel faded images of old cookbooks, album covers and magazines. I work primarily in oil, because of its shiny, creamy and thick textured qualities. I want to capture the details of an imaginary sugary sweet and glossy era gone by. As colorful, playful and light as many of my subjects may seem, there is also an underlying theme of American overindulgence.
